At Ralph Thayer Automotive, we’re excited to introduce the all-new 2017 Golf Alltrack. Here are a few facts about this powerful 4Motion all-wheel drive vehicle, which is yours for test-driving.
Powerful Driving Experience
The MQB architecture and turbocharged, direct-injected powertrain of the Golf Alltrack make the car extremely drivable. It features a six-speed dual clutch DSG® automatic transmission and a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder TSI gasoline unit that results in 170 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque. On the road, you get the smooth feel of a front-wheel-drive experience.
The Golf Alltrack’s “Off-Road Mode” accessed with the Drive Mode selector provides valuable hill descent and traction control when off-roading is required. Off the road, the system detects any wheel slip and then compensates by transferring up to half of the drive torque to the rear wheels. The Off-Road HMI included in the navigation system has the added benefit of displaying the compass, altitude and steering angle when the vehicle is driving off-road.
Roomy and Comfortable
Offering cargo volume that competes with other compact SUV’s in terms of size and versatility, the 2017 Golf Alltrack features leg and storage room. Though the inside has a SportWagen layout, it features a more classic, upscale look with leatherette seating, pedal covers made of aluminum, pleasant ambient lighting and Alltrack branding door sills. The trunk is also spacious, especially when you fully fold the split rear seat. There are standard infotainment features, including a proximity sensor and rearview camera.
The 2017 Golf Alltrack features an off-road look with off-body cladding and generous ground clearance. The vehicle features unique wheel wells, side sills and bumpers. On this car, you’ll also find foglights and a distinctive honeycomb grille.
You can be assured of a secure ride with the 2017 Golf Alltrack. The vehicle features a wide variety of drive assistance capabilities; including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and front assist emergency braking. The car has been engineered to exceed crash regulations and has up to six airbags.
