St. Patrick’s Day Events

St. Patrick's Day Parade

To be held on Sunday, March 13, starting at noon, the 58th Detroit St. Patrick's Day Parade is open to anyone who wishes to march in the parade or simply watch it. Sponsored by the United Irish Societies (UIS), the parade is a fun destination for kids and adults of all ages. Enjoy a lively parade and watch floats glide down the street, along with clowns. There's also a Corktown Race in the morning that includes a Dublin Mile Dash and a Kids Quarter Mile.

Shamrocks & Shenanigans

This year Shamrocks & Shenanigans 5K run/walk will be held in Ann Arbor. It includes a Kids 1K and dash. The 5K event registration gets you a cotton T-shirt, finisher medal and an invitation to go to a post-race party. Kids also get a shirt, medal and ice cream when they finish.

Library Events

• St. Patrick's Day Crafts in Troy

Take the kids to the St. Patrick's Day Crafts at the Troy Public Library on March 12 where they'll enjoy leprechaun-themed crafts. All ages are welcome at the event, which is free.

• Irish Music and Fun with Caper Kin in Mount Clemens

On March 12, kids and adults alike can enjoy Irish Music and Fun with Caper Kin at the library. There will be traditional Irish music and other fun Irish-themed activities that are sure to leave you and the kids feeling festive.

• Live Music Series: Fable, Grable & Bearly Able in Royal Oak

On March 12, enjoy Fable, Grable & Bearly Able at the Royal Oak Public Library. This lively event features an acoustic trio playing the flute, penny whistle, guitar and octave mandolin. They will play Irish favorites for St. Patrick's Day.
